Federal contracting is one of the revenue streams for entrepreneurs to grow and scale their business. The SBA Tennessee District Office and the Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) will host Drive 8 (a) Memphis Contracting Event for Local Entrepreneurs on July 31 at 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
The event will be held at Southwest Tennessee Community College (Macon Campus).
According to the SBA, “The U.S. government is the largest purchaser of goods and services in the world. To educate and assist entrepreneurs in becoming a client of the U.S. government, the SBA Tennessee District Office has launched Drive 8(a).”
Latanya Channel, district director of the Tennessee District said, “This initiative is dedicated to the success of 8 (a) firms. As a part of this initiative, the SBA Tennessee District team is committed to recruiting new firms into the 8 (a) Business Development Program (including firms located in HUBZones, Opportunity Zones, Promise Zones and minority, veteran and women-owned small businesses.
